Providerkurs ATLS® - Advanced Trauma Life Support für Ärzte International
International course
ATLS is a worldwide training concept that teaches standardized, priority-oriented trauma room management of trauma patients. The aim is to quickly and accurately assess the condition of trauma patients, prioritize treatment and decide whether the patient's own resources are sufficient for treatment or whether a transfer should be considered.
The 2-day ATLS® user course offers lectures in seminar form and practical exercises in small groups. The course program includes an initial and final test as well as overview lectures, case presentations, joint discussions and the acquisition of skills for life-saving measures with a final examination on the overall content of the course. The practical content is taught in skill stations and realistic case simulations and is aimed at doctors of all specialties involved in trauma room care. You will learn the common language of trauma care.

Lernziele
You will learn generally recognized diagnostic and therapeutic strategies for the shock room management of seriously injured persons. You will be systematically introduced to clear concepts and techniques for early clinical diagnosis and acute treatment.
Abschluss
At the end of the course, after successfully passing the final test, you will receive the internationally recognized certificate of the American College of Surgeons.
Validity of the ATLS® certificate:
The international ATLS® provider certificate is valid for 4 years and can be renewed with an ATLS® refresher course within 6 months of expiry, in accordance with the international ATLS® guidelines. After expiry of this period, renewed participation in an ATLS® Provider course is required and renewal with the ATLS® Refresher course is no longer possible.
Hinweise
For course preparation, you will receive a current ATLS® manual (in English) , including a pre-test, after payment has been received.
You must complete the pre-test using the manual before the course begins. The pre-test will then be evaluated and discussed on the first day of the course.
The ATLS® certificate is valid for four years and must be renewed within six months of its expiration by attending an ATLS® refresher course.
Notes on the exams:
- You can retake the practical exam once during the course. If you fail, you will need to retake the provider course.
- The passing score for the written exam is 70%. If you fail, you have the opportunity to retake the written exam once at one of our course locations within three months of the course.
Preparation for the ATLS® course:
The interactive discussions, demonstrations, and skills training offered during the course require prior familiarity with the content of the ATLS® program.
- You must read the ATLS® manual in advance of the course. The manual is only available in English.
- Next, you should complete the Pre-Test. This consists of 40 single-choice questions in the ATLS® format.
The 2-day course is designed to solidify your understanding of ATLS® content. During the course, your knowledge will be deepened. Conversely, participating in the course without prior knowledge of the ATLS® content from the manual would render the course ineffective.
At the end of the course, you must complete both a written and a practical-oral exam with a simulated, moulaged trauma patient. If a component of the exam is not passed, the practical exam may be retaken once on the course day.
